Adam Christenson is a partner at Hawley Troxell in Boise, Idaho, concentrating on public finance and municipal law. He serves as bond counsel, disclosure counsel, underwriter’s counsel, bank counsel, and issuer’s counsel in tax-exempt and taxable public finance transactions. He also acts in a general counsel capacity for governmental entities throughout Idaho. His practice combines finance, public-sector governance, disclosure, and the legal structure of public borrowing and infrastructure funding.

Christenson earned a J.D. from the University of Colorado School of Law in 2007, where he served as Notes and Comments Editor for the Colorado Journal of International Environmental Law and Policy. He received a B.A. in History with a minor in Accounting, magna cum laude, from the University of California Los Angeles in 2004. His education supports a practice that requires both legal analysis and close attention to financial and disclosure issues.

Christenson has experience with annual appropriation lease financings, certificates of participation, lease revenue bonds, general obligation bonds, sewer and water revenue bonds, tax and revenue anticipation notes and warrants, 63-20 financings, community infrastructure districts, local improvement districts, and assessment district bonds. He advises participants in these transactions on documentation, authority, disclosure, and financing structure. His work also includes banking matters connected to public and commercial finance.

Adam Christenson is a member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers and has been recognized by the Idaho Business Review as an Accomplished Under 40 honoree and a Leaders in Law Up & Coming Lawyer. His practice centers on helping public entities and financing participants structure transactions, address municipal law requirements, and manage the legal responsibilities that accompany borrowing, public projects, and ongoing governmental operations.
