Aaron W. Barrick

Aaron W. Barrick is a senior litigator, owner, and managing director of Folkestad Fazekas Barrick & Patoile James, P.C. He has over 20 years of experience handling complex legal matters. His work focuses on delivering strong advocacy in civil litigation, including disputes in business, real estate, and construction.

Aaron earned his J.D. from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, in 1991. He also holds a B.A. from Central University of Iowa in Pella, Iowa, earned in 1987. His education provided a solid foundation for his long and successful legal career.

Aaron has extensive experience in jury and bench trials, arbitration, mediation, settlement conferences, administrative hearings, and appeals. His practice includes business and contract disputes, construction matters, real estate and land use law, insurance issues, and probate cases, and he handles both basic and complex litigation.

Aaron’s business litigation work includes corporate disputes, shareholder agreements, buy-outs, dissolutions, valuations, and debt resolution. His construction practice covers payment disputes, defects, warranties, and mechanics’ liens. He also handles real estate matters, including landlord-tenant disputes, foreclosures, easements, and land-use conflicts.

Aaron served 20 years in the United States Air Force and Colorado National Guard, retiring as a Colonel in 2012. He was the Senior Legal Advisor to the Adjutant General for Colorado and a former Special Assistant U.S. Attorney, managing legal matters affecting thousands of service members.

Aaron is licensed to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court and in state and federal courts in Colorado, Nebraska, and Iowa. He is a member of several bar associations and holds the AV-Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, which recognizes his high professional excellence and ethics.
