About
Zachary W. Worshtil is the Managing Partner of Powers & Worshtil, P.C., where he represents individuals and families in estate administration, estate and trust litigation, and estate planning. His work involves complex legal and financial issues that require careful analysis and practical solutions. Worshtil guides clients through probate matters, trust disputes, planning decisions, and contested estate issues with clarity and care. His practice reflects a detailed, solutions-oriented approach designed to help clients understand their options and move forward with confidence during sensitive and demanding proceedings.
Worshtil earned a B.A. from Tulane University in 2004. He later earned both a J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law and an M.B.A. from the University of Baltimore Merrick School of Business in 2007. After graduating, he served as judicial law clerk to Judge Albert W. Northrop of the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County. That experience strengthened his understanding of litigation, court procedure, legal analysis, and the judicial process before he entered private practice and prepared him for demanding estate disputes.
Worshtil has focused his private practice on estates and trusts after working across several legal areas. He has been appointed to significant roles in Maryland courts, including the Trial Court Judicial Nominating Commission and as Standing Examiner for the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County. He also serves as a court-appointed mediator for the Orphans’ Court for Prince George’s County and has acted as a court-appointed personal representative in estates, reflecting substantial experience with probate and estate matters that involve contested assets and fiduciary responsibilities.
Zachary W. Worshtil holds leadership roles in several professional organizations. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Prince George’s County Bar Association and co-chairs its Probate, Estates, Trusts & Elder Law Committee. He also serves on the Legislative Committee of the Maryland State Bar Association’s Estate & Trust Section Council. His honors include Best Lawyers in America for 2026, The Daily Record’s Estate and Trust Law Power List for 2024, and selection as a Maryland Bar Foundation Fellow, Class of 2025 in Maryland.
