William Whitenack

These opportunities allowed him to develop practical advocacy skills from opposing sides of the criminal justice system before entering full-time practice.

William started his legal career in 1998 as an investigator with the Washington, D.C. Public Defender Service. In that position, he gathered evidence to assist attorneys handling criminal cases. After graduating from law school in 2002, he joined the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office as an assistant district attorney. He prosecuted misdemeanors involving drug possession, domestic violence, and simple assault, along with felonies involving robbery, drug distribution, aggravated assault, sexual assault, and homicide.

William Whitenack relocated to the Philadelphia area in 2009 and passed the Pennsylvania bar examination. He then joined the Family Violence Unit of the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, adding further prosecutorial experience involving sensitive and serious allegations. His background as an investigator, prosecutor, and defense attorney provides a broad understanding of how criminal cases are developed and challenged.
