William S. Graessle

William S. Graessle is one of Florida’s most experienced appellate lawyers, having practiced law for more than three decades. He has handled over two hundred appeals and continues to guide clients through complex legal matters. His work includes civil appeals, family law appeals, and commercial litigation cases across the state.

William began his academic journey at Stetson University, where he earned his B.A. in Political Science in 1982, graduating cum laude. He then went on to complete his J.D. at the University of Florida in 1985. His early career included clerking for a Florida Supreme Court justice, which gave him valuable insights into appellate law.

Over the years, William has represented individuals, businesses, and international clients in both trial and appellate courts. He has argued before Florida’s Supreme Court and multiple district courts, as well as the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. His legal efforts span from Pensacola to Miami, reflecting a true statewide practice.

William is board-certified by The Florida Bar as an Appellate Specialist since 1998. His contributions have earned him honors such as the Florida Bar President’s Pro Bono Service Award and a role on the Florida Bar Foundation’s Board. He also holds an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

William S. Graessle is active in advancing the legal profession. He serves as Master of the Bench for both the Florida Family Law American Inn of Court and the First District Appellate American Inn of Court. He chairs the Jacksonville Bar Association’s Appellate Practice Committee and supports legal education at the University of Florida.
