William R. Kugelman

William R. Kugelman is a partner and leads the Commercial Transactions and Litigation practice at his firm. He focuses on transactional law, commercial litigation, and the defense of corporate directors and officers. William earned his Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1988. He also graduated cum laude from Pace University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts in History. His academic background supports his long-standing work in corporate and commercial legal matters.

William has been practicing law since 1988, providing legal services to a wide range of clients, including sole proprietorships, partnerships, corporations, and limited liability companies. He assists with business formation, corporate governance, real estate transactions, contract negotiations, joint ventures, and mergers.

William has developed a specialty in renewable energy, with a focus on solar energy projects. He has represented clients in project development and financing, including drafting Power Purchase Agreements and Solar License Agreements, and structuring financing solutions for complex energy initiatives.

William is also an experienced trial attorney with more than three decades of litigation experience. He has handled matters involving shareholder disputes, directors’ and officers’ liability, partner conflicts, non-compete claims, franchise disputes, and construction litigation, often serving as lead trial counsel in complex cases.

William has worked with professional baseball players, advising on contracts and representing them in arbitration before Major League Baseball. He has also counseled amateur athletes on contract matters and has spoken on compliance with NCAA regulations, combining legal knowledge with industry insight.
