William Dean

William Dean is the owner of Ohana Law Firm, LLLC, and represents clients in Hawaii’s Third Circuit Court and other legal matters with steady, practical guidance. He handles major lawsuits involving insurance companies and large law firms. His practice also covers family law, including divorce, guardianship, paternity, and real property disputes. He works on title, lien, encroachment, and breach-of-contract matters. Clients rely on his clear advice, careful case preparation, and strong courtroom skills. He focuses on protecting rights, resolving disputes, and helping people move forward.

Mr. Dean earned an LL.M. in International Law from George Washington University Law School and a J.D. from the William S. Richardson School of Law. He also holds an M.S. in Finance from Boston College, an M.S. in Military Operational Art and Science from Air University, a B.S. in Economics and Political Science from the US Air Force Academy, and an A.A. from Clark College.

Mr. Dean built his legal career through years of public service and courtroom work. As a retired Air Force Staff Judge Advocate, he advised commanders, service members, and families on a range of legal issues. His work included military justice, contract law, trusts and estates, and family law. He was also deployed to Guantanamo Bay, where he provided legal services tied to detention operations. That experience shaped his disciplined, thoughtful, and service-driven approach to every matter he handles.

William Dean has also helped people through financial, policy, and leadership work. He served as an Air Force financial management officer, prepared multi-billion-dollar estimates for advanced programs, and managed a $35 million operating budget in Saudi Arabia. He founded a venture-backed biotechnology and bioenergy company in Honolulu and served as a policy advisor to the Governor of Hawaii. He also serves on the Hawaii Elections Commission, helping support fair and trusted election oversight statewide.
