Wendell H. Fuji is Of Counsel at Kobayashi Sugita & Goda, LLP in Honolulu whose practice is concentrated in commercial litigation. Fuji earned a Bachelor of Education and a Masters of Education from the University of Hawaii at Manoa before receiving his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Before attending law school, he taught high school social studies at Mid-Pacific Institute in Honolulu. Fuji has experience that includes advising and representing insurance companies, policyholders, and the Insurance Commissioner of the State of Hawaii on special matters. He has served as special counsel in complex litigation connected to the insolvency, rehabilitation, and liquidation of insurance companies. As co-lead counsel to the liquidator of insolvent insurers, he helped recover more than $20 million in assets for distribution to creditors. His practice also includes arbitration and other dispute-resolution proceedings.
