Wayne Stonestreet

Wayne Stonestreet is Of Counsel at Katz, Kantor, Stonestreet & Buckner, PLLC and has been with the firm for more than 25 years. His practice focuses on taxation law, trusts and estates, wills, probate, corporate law, contracts, leases, litigation, real estate, health care, natural resources, and nonprofit organizations. He also serves as a Mercer County Fiduciary Commissioner, helping address estate and fiduciary matters that require careful legal and financial judgment.

Wayne earned a B.S. in Accounting from West Liberty State College in 1973. He attended West Virginia Law School from 1973 to 1976 and later received an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Miami in 1985. His accounting and advanced tax education provide a strong foundation for evaluating financial issues, structuring estate and business matters, and advising clients on legal obligations involving taxation, property, and organizational planning.

His experience covers a broad range of legal matters for individuals, businesses, estates, and nonprofit entities. Wayne assists with estate administration, probate, wills, trusts, corporate matters, contracts, leases, real estate issues, and tax-related concerns. His work as a fiduciary commissioner adds practical experience in reviewing estate matters and supporting the orderly administration of assets, while his litigation background helps clients address disputes connected to business, property, and financial interests.

Wayne Stonestreet has also contributed to professional and community organizations throughout West Virginia. He has served as counsel to the Community Foundation of the Virginias, secretary and director of the Bluefield High School Foundation, past president of the Rotary Club of Bluefield, and past president of the West Virginia Tax Institute. His long-standing service reflects a practical, community-focused approach to helping clients and organizations manage complex legal, tax, estate, and business matters.
