About
Vivek Jampala, Esq. is a criminal defense attorney based in Texas, known for his strong courtroom presence and dedication to protecting the rights of the accused. Since his admission to the Texas Bar in 2012, he has focused his legal career on defending individuals facing serious criminal charges at both the trial and appellate levels.
Vivek earned his Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Texas, completed in 2008. Early in his career, he interned in Washington, D.C., with Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, an experience that shaped his perspective on public service and legal advocacy.
In 2017, Vivek Jampala played a pivotal role in the high-profile defense of Christopher “Jake” Carrizal, president of the Dallas chapter of the Bandidos Motorcycle Club, in the aftermath of the Twin Peaks shootout in Waco, Texas. The case, the only one to go to trial out of more than 150 indictments, exposed prosecutorial misconduct and led to the dismissal of all related charges—a landmark moment in Texas criminal law.
After six years as a solo practitioner, Vivek co-founded Hunter, Lane & Jampala PLLC in 2019. His practice remains rooted in criminal trial litigation and post-conviction relief. He is admitted to practice in all federal district courts in Texas, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Vivek Jampala is a member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the San Antonio Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. His clients benefit from his sharp legal insight, strategic defense work, and unwavering commitment to achieving justice in even the most challenging cases.
