About

Victoria Sopranik is an attorney with Jim Leach, LC in the Parkersburg area and has worked with the firm since 2003. Her practice plays a central role in developing plaintiff cases, particularly matters involving personal injury. She focuses on research, discovery, drafting briefs and other legal documents, and transactional work, building the factual and legal foundation needed for litigation. Her background includes prior commercial litigation, civil defense, in-house counsel work, and human-resources responsibilities.

Victoria earned an undergraduate degree in Psychology from West Virginia University and later earned her J.D. from the West Virginia University College of Law. During law school, she served on the West Virginia Law Review staff, became publishing editor in her third year, and was elected to the Order of the Coif after ranking in the top 10 percent of her class. Her academic experience developed strong research and writing skills that remain central to her current work.

Victoria began her legal career with a Charleston firm focused on commercial litigation and civil defense. She later served as in-house counsel and director of human resources for MTI in Kentucky, where she developed HR policies, prepared employee manuals for US and Canadian offices, reviewed contracts, and handled other legal work. After joining the Leach firm, she shifted her focus toward plaintiff cases and the research, discovery, drafting, and case organization required in personal injury litigation.

Victoria Sopranik brings a combined background in litigation, business, employment matters, and legal writing to the firm’s plaintiff practice. Her work is especially focused on building strong case records through detailed research, written advocacy, discovery, and document preparation. By drawing on experience from civil defense, corporate work, and plaintiff litigation, she helps organize complex issues and prepare cases for negotiation or trial, supporting injured clients through careful analysis and thorough case development.
