About
Tricia Bath is a criminal defense attorney at Bath & Edmonds, P.A. in Leawood, Kansas. She represents adults and juveniles facing matters ranging from municipal court citations to serious state and federal allegations. Her work includes trial representation, pretrial motions, and appeals. She also addresses consequences connected to criminal allegations, including issues affecting employment, professional licenses, and related custody proceedings.
Tricia earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Communication Studies from the University of Kansas in 1993. She received her J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law in 1996. She began her career as an Assistant District Attorney in Wyandotte County, serving from 1996 to 1999. That experience gave her direct exposure to criminal procedure, prosecution, and preparing cases for jury trial.
Tricia’s prosecution background included serious felony, sexual offense, and homicide trials. In defense practice, she handles motions challenging legal issues and evidence before trial and works to preserve issues for appeal. Her trial work includes examining DNA and fingerprint evidence and questioning witnesses and medical personnel in sexual assault cases. She has also been asked to defend death penalty cases in Kansas.
Tricia Bath was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers in March 2025. She is admitted in Kansas and Missouri, federal district courts in those states, and the Eighth and Tenth Circuit Courts of Appeals. Her work combines courtroom advocacy with legal writing and appellate analysis. She also coordinates with clients’ other lawyers when criminal allegations affect matters such as child custody or protection proceedings.
