Tracie L. McCarn-Dinehart

Tracie L. McCarn-Dinehart is the managing attorney and owner of North Pointe Legal, PLLC in Ludington, Michigan. Her practice focuses on criminal defense, child abuse and neglect, and family law. McCarn-Dinehart represents individuals and families facing criminal charges, CPS investigations, parental-rights proceedings, divorce, and other family disputes. She emphasizes protecting constitutional rights, keeping families together when possible, and helping clients navigate legal matters that can affect their freedom, children, and future.

McCarn-Dinehart earned her J.D. cum laude from Cooley Law School after completing bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Central Michigan University. Her undergraduate studies included political science and communications, followed by a master’s degree in interpersonal communications. During law school, she completed multiple judicial internships and served as a teaching assistant for the Moot Court program while working full time for the State Bar of Michigan. This background strengthened her advocacy, communication, and courtroom preparation skills.

After law school, McCarn-Dinehart clerked for a judge in Eaton County and later practiced criminal defense, family law, and insurance defense litigation. She worked both as a solo practitioner and with a small law firm before serving as in-house counsel for an insurance company. In 2018, she opened North Pointe Legal and returned her focus to criminal defense, child protection matters, and family law. Her experience gives her perspective on courtroom procedure, litigation strategy, and the practical challenges clients face.

McCarn-Dinehart is admitted to practice in Michigan and belongs to several criminal defense and child advocacy organizations, including the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National Association of Counsel for Children.
