Tom Vander Luitgaren

Tom Vander Luitgaren focuses his legal practice on estate planning, probate and trust administration, real estate matters, zoning issues, business law, leasing matters, and litigation. Throughout his career, he has assisted individuals, families, property owners, and businesses with legal matters involving asset protection, property transactions, business operations, and dispute resolution. His experience also includes representation in both trial and appellate proceedings across a variety of legal issues.

Tom earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Indiana University in 1992. He later received his Juris Doctor from Indiana University School of Law in 1997. While completing his legal education, he worked as a Law Clerk at an Indianapolis law office from 1994 through 1997. During that same period, he also gained professional experience working in the Human Resources department at United Parcel Service from 1994 to 1996.

Tom is licensed to practice law in the State of Indiana and is also admitted before the USA Northern and Southern District Courts, the USA Tax Court, and the USA 7th Circuit Court of Appeals. His practice covers a broad range of legal services, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, living wills, health care representative appointments, funeral planning declarations, real estate development, construction matters, borrowing and lending transactions, and commercial and residential leasing issues.

Tom has represented clients in numerous legal disputes involving trust administration, property line disagreements, mechanic’s liens, commercial foreclosure matters, construction defect claims, insurance coverage disputes, and real estate transactions. He has successfully handled cases before both the Indiana Court of Appeals and the Indiana Supreme Court. His work has helped clients protect property rights, resolve business conflicts, and navigate complex estate and trust matters with confidence.

Tom Vander Luitgaren remains actively involved in professional and community organizations. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Indiana Bar Association, Indianapolis Bar Association, and Johnson County Bar Association. His commitment to service extends beyond legal practice through leadership roles in civic and business organizations, reflecting a long-standing dedication to supporting both clients and the broader community.
