Tom Gibbons

Tom Gibbons is the founder, managing partner, and lead trial attorney at Gibbons Legal in Philadelphia. He represents injured clients in personal injury matters involving car, motorcycle, truck, bus, bicycle, pedestrian, rideshare, and SEPTA accidents, along with wrongful death, brain injury, nursing home abuse, premises liability, medical malpractice, product liability, workers’ compensation, and construction accidents. His practice focuses on litigation and trial strategy for people seeking recovery after serious injuries caused by negligence or unsafe conditions.

Tom earned an LL.M. in Trial Advocacy with honors from Temple University School of Law. That advanced trial training supports his work preparing witnesses, organizing evidence, developing courtroom presentations, and presenting complex injury cases to judges and juries. His legal education is reinforced by years of practical trial work on multiple sides of disputes. Tom began his legal career with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted criminal cases and worked on victims’ rights matters. He later spent several years representing insurance companies and their insureds in car accident, slip-and-fall, and workplace accident cases. He eventually redirected his practice to representing injured people. His background gives him insight into how prosecutors, insurers, defense counsel, and opposing parties prepare cases, assess exposure, and approach negotiation and trial.

Tom Gibbons teaches trial strategy and technology in Temple University School of Law’s LL.M. in Trial Advocacy program. His cases have received substantial media attention, and his firm reports more than $100 million recovered for clients. One publicized police brutality matter resulted in a $490,000 settlement and a city investigation into detainee transportation practices. His practice combines teaching, courtroom experience, insurance-defense knowledge, and plaintiff representation to pursue personal injury claims through negotiation, litigation, and trial.
