About
Todd Steigman is an employment lawyer and a partner at Madsen, Prestley & Parenteau, LLC, where he represents Connecticut employees whose workplace rights have been violated. He focuses on whistleblower retaliation, employment discrimination, sexual harassment, wage and overtime claims, unequal pay, wrongful discharge, and Family and Medical Leave Act disputes. He also represents public employees whose speech or objections to workplace wrongdoing are protected by federal or state law.
Todd earned his B.A. summa cum laude in History and Psychology from Quinnipiac University. He earned his J.D. with honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law. He gained practical experience during law school through internships with US Magistrate Judge William I. Garfinkel and the Employee Rights Division of the Connecticut Attorney General’s Office. He is admitted in Connecticut, the US District Court for the District of Connecticut, and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
Todd has litigated claims under Sarbanes-Oxley, Dodd-Frank, the False Claims Act, and other state and federal whistleblower laws. He played a leading role in a Connecticut Supreme Court case that strengthened retaliation protections for employees who oppose official dishonesty, unconstitutional conduct, serious wrongdoing, or threats to public health and safety. He has also argued appeals before the Connecticut Supreme Court and the Second Circuit. He has obtained monetary recoveries for workers subjected to workplace sexual harassment and assault, while also helping secure stronger employer policies against harassment, discrimination, and retaliation.
Todd Steigman has completed training in Trauma-Informed Legal Advocacy, and he belongs to the Legal Network for Gender Equity. He is also affiliated with the National Employment Lawyers Association and the Connecticut Employment Lawyers Association. He was selected to the Connecticut Super Lawyers Rising Stars list in 2015 and to Super Lawyers from 2022 through 2026. He also writes and speaks on employment law issues, reflecting his commitment to employee rights and informed legal advocacy.
