About
Todd McCutcheon is a highly experienced criminal defense attorney who has practiced law in the Chicagoland area for over 20 years. A former prosecutor in both Cook and Lake Counties, he brings deep insight into the State’s tactics and uses that knowledge to develop strong, proactive defense strategies.
Originally from New Mexico, McCutcheon moved to Chicago in 2003 to pursue his legal education. He earned his law degree from DePaul University College of Law, where he was consistently on the Dean’s List and served on the Academic Advisory Committee. While still in law school, Todd was granted a provisional law license and litigated nearly 40 cases before graduating.
McCutcheon has handled a wide variety of criminal cases, including DUI, narcotics charges, theft, violent crimes, domestic violence, and traffic violations. He has represented clients in 26 counties across Illinois and is particularly well known for his work on high-profile self-defense and Second Amendment cases. He has collaborated with the United States Concealed Carry Association, defending gun owners’ rights with precision and dedication.
McCutcheon takes a client-centered approach, ensuring that every individual he represents receives personal attention and clear communication. His ability to anticipate prosecutorial strategies—combined with his extensive trial experience—makes him a formidable advocate in court and a trusted advisor outside of it.
Now practicing at Luisi Legal, Todd McCutcheon continues to deliver aggressive and effective legal representation. His commitment to justice, hands-on approach, and proven track record make him a valuable ally for anyone facing criminal charges.
