About
Thomas L. Hartnett is an attorney with Long Reimer Winegar LLP in Jackson, Wyoming, where he has practiced with the firm since 2016. His work includes elder law and Medicaid planning, estate planning, tax, and wealth transfer planning, business planning, civil litigation, and probate and estate administration. He also handles guardianship and conservatorship matters. His practice serves individuals, families, and business owners who need coordinated planning or representation involving assets, estates, long-term care, business interests, and related disputes.
Hartnett earned a B.A. in Political Science from Colorado State University in 2007 and a J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2016, along with a certificate in Constitutional Rights and Remedies. While in law school, he served as Editor of Technology for the University of Denver Transportation Law Journal and completed externships with the ACLU of Colorado and a civil-rights and employment law firm. He is licensed in Wyoming and Colorado.
Hartnett’s prior experience includes work with his father’s small business before law school and post-law-school service as a law clerk with Schroth, Schroth & Madigan. In that role, he focused on trial work involving personal injury, business litigation, and criminal law. Those experiences add a practical business and litigation perspective to his planning practice. His current work covers estate and wealth-transfer planning, probate administration, elder-law concerns, business planning, and related civil disputes that can arise around family assets and business interests.
Thomas L. Hartnett is a graduate of the ACTEC Rocky Mountain Fellows Institute and is a member of the Wyoming Bar Association and Teton County Bar Association. His professional background combines estate-planning work with litigation experience and firsthand familiarity with small-business operations. That range helps him address matters that cross between planning, administration, business structure, and contested proceedings. He provides clients with legal guidance on preserving assets, planning transfers, administering estates, and managing business or family issues that require coordinated legal analysis.
