Thomas Hart

Thomas B. Hart is a Florida Board Certified Real Estate Attorney in Fort Myers who concentrates his practice on real estate, government, and community association matters. He advises public entities, special districts, and residential communities on legal and governance issues. His experience includes decades of work with local governmental organizations and community associations, giving him substantial familiarity with matters involving public administration, real property, organizational governance, and the legal needs of established Florida communities.

Thomas earned a B.S. from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a J.D., with honors, from the University of Florida College of Law. Before pursuing his law degree, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Harts Dairy, Inc. in Fort Myers. His combination of legal education and prior business leadership provides a practical foundation for addressing real estate matters, organizational concerns, and issues involving governmental and community entities.

Thomas served for 25 years as General Counsel to the Lee County Supervisor of Elections. He currently serves as General Counsel to organizations including the Herons Glen Recreation District, Lee County Industrial Authority, Renaissance Community Development District, Mediterra Community Association, and several other community associations. His civic experience includes service as an elected member and past chair of the Lee County Mosquito Control District, along with past leadership of the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce and Lee County Horizon Council.

Thomas B. Hart is admitted to practice in Florida, before the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the US Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the US Supreme Court. He is a member of the Lee County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He has earned an AV Preeminent peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell and received a Lifetime Member Award from the Regional Manufacturers Association in 2001.
