Tara B. Annweiler is a respected legal advisor with over two decades of experience guiding business clients through real estate transactions, finance structuring, and commercial lending. As a partner at her firm’s Galveston office, she focuses on real estate law, creditor rights, banking, and property tax litigation, bringing comprehensive knowledge to every deal she facilitates.
Tara earned her Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law in 1992 and holds a Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. Her legal career began in insurance and commercial litigation, providing a solid foundation for her current transactional practice. She is admitted to practice in Texas and across all four federal district courts in the state.
Tara’s extensive practice includes representing national banks, insurance lenders, and corporate entities in multi-million-dollar transactions involving commercial and residential properties. She also advises on collateral recovery, creditor bankruptcy litigation, and large-scale real estate development financing, consistently managing legal complexities with precision and foresight.
Tara has successfully led transactions such as a $30 million mortgage for a residential apartment complex, a $28 million loan secured by multiple gas stations, and a land sale of over 1,000 acres to a public trust. She has also handled property acquisitions for nonprofit foundations, including historic landmarks, showcasing her versatility across legal and civic spheres.
