About
Tanis M. Holm is a managing partner at Yellowstone Law in Billings, Montana, representing injured people and families in civil litigation. Her practice includes car, truck, and motorcycle accidents, medical malpractice, wrongful death, sexual abuse litigation, and banking and financial malpractice matters. After spending seventeen years defending insurance companies and corporations, she now applies that experience to claims brought by people seeking compensation for injuries and related losses.
Holm graduated with high honors from Butler University in 2004, completing a double major in Political Science and French. She earned her J.D. from the University of Montana School of Law in 2007. She is admitted to practice before Montana state courts and the U.S. District Court for the District of Montana. This education and courtroom background inform her evaluation of liability, damages, insurance coverage, and potential defenses.
Holm’s earlier insurance defense work gave her direct experience with the procedures used to investigate, value, defend, and resolve claims. In her current plaintiff-side practice, she handles significant injury disputes arising from transportation accidents, alleged medical negligence, and other harmful conduct. She helps clients review the circumstances of an injury, consider settlement options, and prepare for litigation when a dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation.
Tanis M. Holm has served on the State Bar of Montana’s Professionalism Committee since 2013. Her combination of defense-side experience and personal injury representation brings a useful perspective to negotiations and litigation. She focuses on explaining legal processes to clients and pursuing fair compensation based on the facts of each case. Her practice serves individuals and families throughout Montana from the firm’s Billings office.
