Tamara C. Thiel

Tamara C. Thiel is a partner at Taggart & Taggart whose practice centers on water rights, natural resources, real estate, and civil litigation. She represents clients in water rights adjudications, regulatory proceedings, and transactions involving land and water. Her work includes title research, permitting, administrative appeals, and the preparation of agreements. She has worked in Nevada water rights matters since 1997, bringing prior technical and paralegal experience to her legal representation.

Thiel earned a J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 2020, with an Environmental Law Concentration. She received a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2003, with a minor in mathematics. She graduated as salutatorian of her law school evening division, received several Witkin Awards for Academic Excellence, and joined the Order of the Coif. Her studies complement her long-standing work with water rights records and regulation.

Thiel joined Taggart & Taggart as a paralegal in 2008 while continuing to work in water law. Earlier, she served as Director of Operations in the Water Rights Department at Resource Management and Development Inc. Her experience includes reviewing thousands of reports of conveyance, researching vested rights, and analyzing water-title issues. She advises on stockwater rights, irrigation company matters, land transactions, snowmaking permits, water reuse, and renewable energy easements. She handles administrative and civil appeals.

Tamara C. Thiel was admitted to the Nevada bar in 2020 and later became a partner at the firm. She has been qualified as an expert in water right title before the Nevada State Engineer. She participates in professional education programs on water regulations and easements and has undertaken pro bono legal work. Her practice combines technical familiarity with water records and legal services for clients handling property rights and resource-related obligations.
