About

Susan M. Argo focuses her practice on commercial bankruptcy, loan workouts, creditors’ rights, litigation, and matters involving financial institutions. Her background combines private practice experience with in-house banking knowledge, giving her a practical understanding of the legal and business issues that arise in complex financial disputes. Known for a determined approach to problem-solving, she works on matters involving restructuring, commercial lending, regulatory compliance, and real estate-related conflicts. Her experience allows her to guide clients through challenging situations while keeping attention on practical and effective outcomes.

Susan earned a B.A. in Economics and Spanish, with a Philosophy Minor, from St. Ambrose University in 1993, graduating summa cum laude. She then earned a J.D., with honors, from Drake University Law School in 1996. Her educational background reflects both academic excellence and a strong foundation in business, economics, and law.

Susan has played an important role in shaping legal developments in the area of receivership law. She successfully argued The Park National Bank v. Cattani before the 12th District of Ohio, a decision that confirmed a receiver’s authority to sell property free and clear of liens. That ruling later became a foundation for legislative efforts involving Ohio receivership laws. As Past Chair of the Ohio Bar Association’s Receivership Subcommittee, she contributed to the drafting of House Bill 9, which amended Ohio’s receiver statutes. Earlier in her career, she served as Assistant Vice President and Counsel within the Legal Department of a large regional bank, adding valuable insight into the challenges faced by lenders and financial institutions.

Susan M. Argo maintains active involvement in numerous legal and professional organizations. Her memberships include the Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois, and Cincinnati Bar Associations, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Equipment Leasing and Financing Association, and the Tri-State Association of Corporate Renewal (TACR). She is also a Founding Member of the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC) – Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Chapter and serves in leadership roles with several civic and professional organizations.
