Susan Hardie Jacks is an of-counsel trial attorney whose practice focuses on complex commercial and bankruptcy litigation. She represents bankruptcy trustees, companies, and individuals in high-stakes disputes. Her experience covers business torts, fraud, fiduciary duty claims, intellectual property, probate, professional malpractice, and bankruptcy preference and fraudulent conveyance litigation. Susie earned her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she served on the Moot Court Board. She was admitted to the Raven Society for contributions to university life. She earned her A.B. in English, cum laude, from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Her academic background supports the legal analysis, writing, and advocacy required in complex trial and appellate litigation.

Susie has handled major bankruptcy and commercial disputes across state and federal courts during a career spanning more than 40 years. Her representative work includes litigation arising from real estate Ponzi schemes, intellectual property disputes, professional malpractice, and fraudulent transfers. In one healthcare bankruptcy matter, her trial team obtained a judgment exceeding $7 million and a declaration preserving valuable intellectual property for the bankruptcy estate. She has represented trustees in other cases producing substantial recoveries.

Susan Hardie Jacks is licensed in Colorado, Texas, Virginia, and Florida and is admitted before the US Supreme Court. She became certified in Business Bankruptcy Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 1994. Her professional affiliations include the Colorado Bar Association, State Bar of Texas, Florida Bar, Virginia State Bar, and Colorado Trial Lawyers Association. She has written and presented on bankruptcy litigation, preference defenses, asset recovery, and restructuring issues.
