Sunil Raju

Sunil Raju is an Oregon real estate lawyer and experienced trial attorney with more than 20 years of legal experience. His practice focuses on real estate disputes, landlord-tenant matters, land use issues, and general civil litigation. He represents property owners, business owners, and other clients across Oregon. His work combines litigation strategy with practical guidance designed to help clients resolve disputes involving property rights, business interests, and other significant legal concerns.

Raju earned his J.D. from Lewis & Clark Law School and his B.A. in Economics from Northwestern University. He studied abroad at Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia and attended the Russian Language School at Middlebury College. His academic background provided a strong foundation in legal analysis, economics, communication, and problem-solving. This training supports his work on real estate, land use, landlord-tenant, and other civil disputes requiring detailed factual and legal analysis.

Raju has tried more than 150 jury and bench trials, including more than 80 jury trials. He began his legal career as a prosecutor in Portland and spent six years prosecuting criminal cases, gaining substantial courtroom experience. He later entered private practice and developed a litigation practice focused heavily on real estate matters along Oregon’s north coast. His experience includes trials, motions, negotiations, and disputes involving property owners, businesses, and other clients.

Sunil Raju serves as president of the Clatsop County Bar Association and sits on the Providence Seaside Hospital Foundation board. He belongs to the Oregon State Bar Real Estate and Land Use Section and Civil Litigation Section. He serves on the Oregon State Bar Bulletin Editorial Advisory Committee and belongs to the Portland chapter of Entrepreneurs’ Organization. His background combines extensive trial advocacy with focused experience in real estate and land-related disputes.
