Stu Shelton

Stu Shelton is the owner and managing attorney at Stuart E. Shelton Injury Law, PLLC in Lacey, Washington. He represents injured individuals in personal injury matters, including auto trauma and car accidents, wrongful death and survival actions, medical malpractice, dangerous premises, vicious animal claims, slip and fall cases, and nursing home neglect. His practice is built around personal representation of clients facing injury, insurance disputes, and accountability issues.

Shelton earned his Juris Doctor from Seattle University School of Law in 1981. He also received a Bachelor of Arts in Society and Justice from the University of Washington in 1978. His education provided a strong foundation in legal analysis, advocacy, and the justice system. That background supports his ability to evaluate injury claims, explain legal options, and guide clients through difficult disputes with practical judgment.

Shelton has provided personal injury representation since 1981 and has represented thousands of injured individuals. Early in his career, he represented insurance companies, but he soon shifted his practice to representing injured people exclusively. His experience includes arguing cases in municipal, district, and superior state courts, as well as federal courts. He also serves as a settlement and pro tem district court judge for Thurston County and works as a private arbitrator and mediator.

Stu Shelton is known for a client-focused approach that reflects his firm’s motto, “Personal Injury Law Made Personal.” He is a member of the Washington State, Federal, Pierce County, and Thurston County bar associations, a longtime Washington State Association for Justice Eagle Member, and a former chair of the WSAJ Thurston County Roundtable.
