Steven P. Gould

Steven P. Gould is a Virginia lawyer and legal executive who oversees legal and business operations while maintaining a client-focused practice. His work focuses on employment law, estate planning, general corporate matters, business formation, business transition, and issues involving state and local government regulation in Virginia. He helps clients address legal planning, workplace concerns, business needs, and government-related matters with practical guidance.

Steven earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served as a Dillard Fellow for the school’s Legal Research and Writing Program. He is also a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His academic background supports his work in legal analysis, written advocacy, business planning, and public policy matters.

Steven has built experience across private practice, business leadership, and public service. Before his current role, he founded and led a private practice, co-founded another practice, and worked with law offices in Richmond and Danville. Before attending law school, he served for five years as a policy adviser in the Office of the Governor in Richmond, focusing on economic and workforce development, agriculture, housing, and executive clemency. He is admitted in Virginia state and federal courts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Steven P. Gould is active in professional and public service organizations. He is a past Chair of the Virginia Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division and has served on the VBA Board of Governors and the Virginia Law Foundation Board of Directors. He also serves on the Pro Bono Committee of the Supreme Court of Virginia’s Access to Justice Commission. His recognition includes the Sandra P. Thompson Award, the Young Professionals PACE Award, Virginia Super Lawyers honors, and Virginia Business Legal Elite recognition.
