Steven J Wright

Steven J Wright is an Idaho Falls attorney whose practice emphasizes estate planning and business/ranch/farm succession planning. He advises individuals, families, and business owners on long-term planning strategies designed to protect assets and support smooth transitions. He also assists with “buy/sell” agreements, an important tool in many business succession plans, and provides free presentations on estate planning topics.

Steven earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management before graduating magna cum laude with a J.D. from Brigham Young University’s J. Reuben Clark School of Law in 1990. He is experienced in counseling clients and handling transactional matters for both individuals and businesses. His clients have included companies in the media, manufacturing, construction, and professional services sectors.

Steven previously practiced in Houston, TX with Vinson & Elkins LLP, where he focused on consulting and litigation services for clients such as Compaq Computer Corporation, Halliburton Company, The Texas Heart Institute, and The Port of Houston Authority. After returning to Idaho in 1996, he continued to expand his practice in planning and business matters. He also served as Special Deputy Attorney General for the State of Idaho, assisting single, indigent parents in obtaining child support, and from 2004 to 2010, chaired a panel appointed by the Idaho Board of Medicine to review medical malpractice claims.

Steven J Wright is a former president of the Idaho State Bar’s Seventh District Bar Association and a former chairperson of the Idaho State Bar’s Labor and Employment Section. He taught Mass Media Law at Brigham Young University – Idaho from 2006 to 2009.
