Steven E. Gross

Steven E. Gross is a respected leader and Chairman Emeritus of Sills Cummis & Gross, bringing decades of experience in corporate, finance, and international transactions. As former Chair of the firm’s Securities and Capital Markets and Banking and Finance Practice Groups, he has represented major corporations, institutional lenders, and senior executives in high-value domestic and cross-border deals.

Steven earned his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School and his Bachelor of Business Administration from Baruch College. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York. His education at Harvard equipped him with a sophisticated understanding of business and finance law, enabling him to handle complex, multi-jurisdictional matters for clients worldwide.

Throughout his career, Steven has advised public companies and boards of directors on fiduciary duties, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance. His practice includes representing institutional creditors in public and private debt financings, workouts, and restructurings. With over three decades of experience, he has guided foreign corporations entering U.S. markets, managing multi-million-dollar mergers, acquisitions, and sale transactions involving intricate tax, intellectual property, and employment issues.

Beyond his legal practice, Steven E. Gross is deeply engaged in professional and community leadership. He has served on the boards of the Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, and held leadership roles with Harvard Law School alumni organizations.
