Stephen R. Miller

Stephen R. Miller is a seasoned trial lawyer with more than four decades of legal experience representing clients in complex disputes. His work spans construction law, business matters, and civil litigation. He is known for handling challenging cases and guiding clients through both courtroom proceedings and alternative dispute resolution processes.

Stephen earned a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame in 1983, followed by a J.D. from the University of Notre Dame in 1983. He later completed an M.A. from the University of Notre Dame in 1989. His academic background laid a strong foundation for his long-standing legal career.

Stephen focuses much of his practice on the construction industry while also handling a wide range of litigation matters. His experience includes business disputes, class actions, civil rights cases, labor and employment issues, real estate conflicts, and product liability claims, along with personal injury and professional malpractice cases.

Stephen has represented clients in more than 20 states, appearing before state and federal courts at both trial and appellate levels. His work also includes arbitration panels, administrative bodies, and other legal forums. His ability to adapt across jurisdictions has strengthened his reputation as a capable and versatile advocate.

Stephen has been involved in significant and complex cases throughout his career. Early in his practice, he secured a multimillion-dollar verdict at a young age. He later participated in a major jury trial that resulted in a $116.5 million verdict, reflecting his ability to handle high-stakes litigation.

Stephen also emphasizes resolving disputes efficiently outside of court when possible. He regularly uses mediation and other alternative dispute resolution methods to help clients avoid the costs and stress of litigation. His role as an approved mediator allows him to assist parties in reaching practical and fair outcomes.
