With more than 35 years of litigation experience, Stacey handles complex disputes in state and federal courts as well as private arbitration matters. Her practice includes shareholder disputes, fiduciary litigation, construction claims, intellectual property conflicts, insurance coverage cases, and real estate matters. She is known for building practical legal strategies that support both immediate and long-term client goals.
Stacey earned a B.A., cum laude, from the University of Virginia before receiving a J.D. from George Washington University Law School. She was also recognized with the Order of the Coif. Her educational background helped shape a disciplined and detail-focused approach to legal analysis, courtroom advocacy, and client representation across a wide range of commercial disputes.
Stacey has represented businesses, trustees, shareholders, contractors, and investors in high-stakes litigation and arbitration proceedings throughout the country. She regularly presents arguments before judges, handles appeals, and has tried numerous jury cases. Her work includes matters involving trade secrets, fiduciary duties, securities disputes, and business ownership conflicts involving substantial financial interests.
Stacey has achieved favorable outcomes in many significant cases. She secured large arbitration awards in broker-dealer disputes, obtained judgments in intellectual property litigation, and helped clients resolve complex trust and shareholder matters. In construction and real estate disputes, she has defended contractors, developers, and property owners while protecting their financial and operational interests through careful litigation planning.
Stacey also serves as a certified arbitrator through both the American Arbitration Association and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Earlier in her legal career, she served as law clerk to the Solicitor General of the United States and to the Hon. George H. Revercomb of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, strengthening her foundation in appellate and federal litigation practice.
Stacey P. Nakasian’s professional background also includes admission to the Rhode Island bar, along with practice before the First Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court.
