Sonya R. Burke

Sonya R. Burke is a shareholder in Modrall Sperling’s Litigation group, where she concentrates her practice on insurance coverage defense and civil litigation. She represents insurance carriers and their insureds in complex disputes, offering trusted counsel in matters involving professional liability, employment law, and breach of contract.

Sonya earned her Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law in 2012. During law school, she served as the Administrative Editor of the BU Public Interest Law Journal and represented indigent defendants through the BU Criminal Clinic. She holds a B.A. in English with a French minor from the University of Texas at Austin.

Sonya is an experienced litigation attorney who defends real estate professionals, lawyers, and contractors in professional liability claims. She also represents clients in complex construction and design disputes, EEOC investigations, and a wide range of employment and contract litigation. Sonya appears in both federal and state courts, including the U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.
