Shawn L. Hungate

Shawn L. Hungate has more than 25 years of experience representing individuals in family and criminal law matters across Central Florida. Known for his balanced and compassionate approach, he combines assertive advocacy with reason and professionalism to protect his clients’ rights. Shawn completed his Bachelor of Science in 1993 at the University of Arizona before earning a Juris Doctor from the University of Arizona College of Law in 1997. That same year, he was admitted to The Florida Bar, beginning a long-standing career marked by community involvement and professional excellence. His leadership includes serving as President of the Osceola County Bar Association from 2003 to 2004 and as an Ambassador for the St. Cloud Chamber of Commerce between 2001 and 2003.

Over the years, Shawn has practiced in various respected firms, starting at the Orange County Public Defender’s Office in 1997, where he developed strong trial and negotiation skills. He later represented clients at Kathy Shieve, P.A., and Draper Law Office, before establishing his own practice in 2012. His experience extends to handling complex family disputes, marital settlement agreements, divorce proceedings, and DUI and criminal defense cases with diligence and care.
