Shannon G. Thatcher

Shannon G. Thatcher is a Mansfield-based attorney licensed to practice in the State of Ohio and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. Her practice focuses on family law, domestic relations, estate planning, wills and trusts, prenuptial agreements, and business formation matters.

Shannon earned her Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School in 2009, graduating summa cum laude and ranking in the top 7% of her class. She served as Executive Articles Editor for the Capital University Law Review and interned at the National Center for Adoption Law and Policy. She holds a B.A. from Ohio Dominican University, cum laude, earned in 2002.

In family law, Shannon assists clients with divorce, custody, and guardianship matters, including service as a Guardian ad Litem. In estate planning, she offers strategic guidance in drafting wills, trusts, and power of attorney documents tailored to her clients’ long-term needs and goals. She also supports clients in business creation and development.

Shannon has been admitted to practice in Ohio since 2009 and before the Northern District of Ohio since 2013. She is an active member of the American Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association, and Richland County Bar Association. She also teaches Business Law at North Central State College.

Shannon G. Thatcher has published scholarly legal work and is active in both local and out-of-state community leadership, serving on the boards of the Mansfield Art Center and the Bald Head Island Conservancy.
