Sean M. Leonard

Sean M. Leonard is an Associate in McLane Middleton’s Litigation Department and a member of the firm’s Family Law Practice Group. He works from the Manchester and Portsmouth offices and represents clients in New Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusetts. His family law experience includes divorce, parental rights and responsibilities, termination of parental rights, adoption, and related disputes that require careful preparation, practical judgment, and focused advocacy for individuals and families.

Sean earned an LL.M. from The George Washington University Law School, a J.D. from Roger Williams University School of Law, and a B.A. from Plymouth State University. During law school, he served as Vice President of the Student Bar Association and received the Feinstein Institute of Public Service Award for his work with the Navy. His education supports a litigation practice involving detailed legal analysis, client counseling, and family law advocacy.

Sean practiced at a Maine law firm before joining McLane Middleton, where he became a partner and focused on family matters. He is admitted in New Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusetts. His professional activities include bar association involvement, the DOVE Program, Leadership Seacoast, and its Admissions Committee. He has presented on electronic discovery, relocation, abuse, and social media evidence in divorce litigation, reflecting experience with modern evidentiary issues in family cases.
