Sean Delaney

Sean Delaney is a Raleigh civil litigation and business lawyer who serves as an Operations Partner. His practice includes select civil and business matters involving individuals and small companies. He advises businesses through different stages of development, from formation to dissolution, and handles disputes when litigation becomes necessary. His broad courtroom background supports practical case evaluation, negotiation, and trial preparation across varied legal forums.

Delaney earned his J.D. from The Catholic University of America and his B.A. from Dickinson College. He later received an M.S.S. from the U.S. Army War College. His legal and military education provided a strong foundation in advocacy, leadership, strategic analysis, and problem-solving. This training supports his work on civil disputes and business matters requiring detailed preparation, sound judgment, and an understanding of broader operational concerns.

Delaney has practiced for more than 20 years and has served as first-chair counsel in numerous contested matters. His experience includes jury trials in Superior Court, U.S. District Court proceedings, state district and magistrate courts, administrative agencies, bankruptcy court, and appellate matters. He has appeared before the North Carolina Court of Appeals and local government boards. His courtroom background extends to U.S. Army courts-martial and other military proceedings.

Sean Delaney served 28 years as a U.S. Army Reserve JAG Corps officer before retiring in 2021 as a lieutenant colonel. His military service included deployments to the Middle East and senior legal advisory roles supporting operational commands. He is admitted in North Carolina and Maryland and before several federal courts. His professional affiliations include the North Carolina Bar Association, Wake County Bar Association, and Association of Legal Administrators.
