About
Scott W. Dunn is a real estate lawyer whose practice focuses on real estate, business law, land use, estate planning, and general and commercial litigation. He advises clients on legal matters that affect property, business operations, planning, and disputes. His work helps individuals and businesses protect their interests, manage risk, and move forward with practical legal solutions. Clients value his broad experience, steady judgment, and strong understanding of both transactions and litigation.
Scott earned his J.D. from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. He also received his B.A. in History and Political Science from the University of Colorado. His education gave him a strong foundation in legal analysis, writing, advocacy, and public affairs. That background supports his work in real estate, land use, business matters, and litigation.
After law school, Scott served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps. During that time, he worked primarily as a defense counsel in court martials. That experience strengthened his courtroom skills and gave him valuable litigation experience early in his career. After completing military service, he joined his firm in Longmont and continued building a practice that combines business advice, property-related counsel, and dispute resolution for a wide range of clients.
Scott W. Dunn has also contributed through civic and community leadership. He served for ten years on the City of Longmont Planning and Zoning Commission, including three years as chairman. That experience strengthens his understanding of land use and local development issues. Clients benefit from his practical perspective, litigation background, and community insight. He remains focused on helping clients address legal matters involving property, business, and planning with confidence.
