Sara S. Berg

Sara S. Berg is a Partner and Helena family law attorney whose practice also includes mediation, professional negligence, insurance litigation, and civil defense. She represents clients in divorce, separation, spousal support, property division, child custody, child support, adoptions, paternity matters, post-divorce partition, order modifications, and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. She also defends doctors, hospitals, medical facilities, and other healthcare providers in medical malpractice litigation.

Sara earned a J.D. from the University of Montana School of Law in 2000 and a B.S. in Social Studies Secondary Education from Miami University in 1997. While in law school, she worked at the Missoula County Attorney’s Office and joined Browning, Kaleczyc, Berry & Hoven during her third year. Her education and early legal experience developed the litigation, negotiation, and analytical skills that support her family law, mediation, and civil defense work.

Sara spent more than two decades at Browning, Kaleczyc, Berry & Hoven, becoming a shareholder and focusing on medical malpractice defense and family law matters. She represents healthcare providers in state and federal court and handles family disputes through litigation, negotiation, and mediation. Her mediation training covers co-parenting, community property, alimony, child support, custody, and related issues, allowing her to help clients pursue practical resolutions when appropriate.

Sara S. Berg leads the Helena office and is admitted in Montana, the US District Court for the District of Montana, the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the US Supreme Court.
