About
Sanford H. Greenberg is a founding partner of Greenberg Freeman LLP and focuses on complex commercial litigation. His practice includes business disputes, fiduciary and estate litigation, employment law, contracts, securities matters, restrictive covenants, trade secrets, fraud, professional malpractice, construction disputes, defamation, and real estate-related claims. He represents companies and individuals across industries that include finance, manufacturing, engineering, pharmaceuticals, fashion, marketing, e-commerce, and real estate.
Greenberg earned a B.A. from Indiana University in 1987 and a J.D., with distinction, from Emory University School of Law in 1990. Before founding his current firm, he practiced at Proskauer Rose LLP and Gaston & Snow. His education and earlier law firm experience provided a foundation for handling complicated disputes involving business relationships, contractual obligations, employment issues, fiduciary duties, and contested estate matters.
Greenberg has more than 30 years of experience in trial and appellate litigation. He represents clients in state and federal courts and in proceedings involving the American Arbitration Association, FINRA, the SEC, the EEOC, and state and city human rights agencies. He also represents executors, administrators, trustees, and beneficiaries in contested trust and estate matters and handles disputes arising from employment relationships and commercial transactions.
Sanford H. Greenberg is admitted in New York and before the US District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. His work combines courtroom advocacy with practical evaluation of business and litigation risks. He assists clients in developing strategies for complex disputes, protecting contractual and fiduciary rights, managing regulatory or employment issues, and pursuing resolutions through negotiation, arbitration, trial, or appeal.
