Samuel V. Butcher, Esq., RPh, CELA, is a Certified Elder Law Attorney and the founding attorney of Butcher Elder Law in Strongsville, Ohio. With a career rooted in both healthcare and law, he offers compassionate and strategic legal counsel in estate planning, asset protection, guardianships, and elder and special needs law.

Sam earned his Juris Doctor from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University, following his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Ohio Northern University. He remains a licensed pharmacist with the State of Ohio, combining medical insight with legal expertise to better serve aging clients and those with complex health considerations.

Before establishing his firm, Sam gained significant litigation experience as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney and later as a civil litigator focused on medical negligence and wrongful death cases. These roles helped shape his client-centered approach to elder law, where he now focuses exclusively on estate planning, Medicaid and VA benefits, and protecting assets for individuals and families.

Sam is certified by the National Elder Law Foundation, the only ABA-accredited organization for elder law certification. He is admitted to practice in Ohio, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He is also accredited by the Veterans Administration to assist clients with VA pension benefits.
