Rusty (Duane) Denton

Rusty (Duane) Denton is a Partner at Dentons, where he represents clients in employment and commercial litigation matters. He provides guidance in pre-dispute counseling, negotiations, administrative proceedings, discovery, injunction hearings, trials, appeals, and alternative dispute resolution. His wide-ranging practice includes defending employers and advising businesses on complex workplace and commercial disputes.

Rusty earned his Bachelor of Business Administration, cum laude, from Butler University in 1985 before receiving his Juris Doctor from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 1988. Since then, he has built a distinguished career representing clients before state and federal courts, as well as administrative agencies, throughout Indiana and beyond.

In employment law, Rusty advises companies on workplace policies, employee discipline, and termination. He has litigated cases involving discrimination, wage and hour disputes, wrongful termination, and retaliation. His commercial litigation work includes matters involving breach of contract, fiduciary duty disputes, fraud, defamation, shareholder misconduct, trade secrets, unfair competition, and restrictive covenant violations. He has successfully handled appeals in both state and federal courts.

Rusty’s accomplishments have earned repeated recognition.
