Russell Scott Manning is an attorney with extensive experience handling complex legal matters involving bankruptcy, creditor representation, and commercial disputes. Russell works with individuals and businesses to resolve financial and legal challenges while protecting their interests through strategic planning, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy across a wide range of cases.
Russell built a strong academic foundation through his studies. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from the University of Mississippi in 2000. He later completed his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Mississippi College School of Law in 2006, preparing him for a career focused on litigation and business-related legal matters.
Russell has developed a broad practice that includes bankruptcy, creditors’ rights, repossessions, foreclosures, and commercial and consumer collections. He also handles business services, real estate litigation, landlord and tenant disputes, and estate planning matters, helping clients manage both immediate legal concerns and long-term financial planning needs.
Russell gained early legal experience through clerkships with the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office and Wilkes & McHugh, P.A. He also worked with the Mississippi Development Authority, assisting with Community Development Block Grant and Loan Programs that supported recovery and rebuilding efforts after Hurricane Katrina along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Russell is licensed to practice in Mississippi and Alabama, including multiple federal courts and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. His courtroom experience includes representing both plaintiffs and defendants, where he has handled a variety of cases and worked to achieve favorable outcomes through preparation and effective advocacy.
