Ron Murphy

Ron Murphy is the owner and principal trial lawyer of Advocates Law Firm. Murphy represents personal injury clients injured through medical malpractice, legal malpractice, and accidents, and he also defends clients in criminal and professional misconduct matters. His practice includes white collar, federal, and state criminal defense, attorney grievance defense, and complex commercial or general litigation, giving him experience across serious civil and criminal disputes.

Murphy earned a J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1983 and a B.S. from Springfield College in 1980. His legal education provided the foundation for a trial practice involving professional negligence, personal injury, criminal defense, disciplinary proceedings, and complex litigation. He later taught Trial Advocacy and Ethics as an adjunct at the University of Connecticut School of Law.

Murphy has tried civil and criminal matters in Connecticut state and federal courts and has handled appellate matters before the Connecticut Supreme Court and Appellate Court. He has also handled cases in Massachusetts and is licensed there.
