Rolando D. Cantu is an experienced criminal defense attorney representing clients in both state and federal courts across Texas. With over 15 years of experience, he has built a reputation for providing aggressive and strategic representation in cases involving violent crimes, drug offenses, DWI, white-collar crimes, and public corruption. Rolando earned his B.A. and M.A. from the University of Texas–Pan American before earning his J.D., cum laude, from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University. After graduation, he served as a Briefing Attorney for the Thirteenth District Court of Appeals, drafting hundreds of opinions for civil and criminal appellate matters. This early experience honed his legal analysis and appellate advocacy skills.

Rolando’s career includes distinguished service as an Assistant District Attorney for Hidalgo County and as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Texas. In these roles, he prosecuted cases involving capital murder, aggravated robbery, narcotics, firearms, and immigration offenses. His years as a prosecutor give him valuable insight into how the state and federal governments build and present cases, allowing him to anticipate and challenge their strategies effectively.
