Robert Cochran

Robert Cochran is a Columbus criminal defense lawyer at Robert Cochran Law, LLC, and a former prosecutor with decades of experience in criminal and white-collar defense. He represents individuals and businesses facing government investigations or criminal charges, including health care law, conspiracy, wire fraud, mail fraud, and money laundering. Robert earned his J.D. from The Ohio State University, Moritz College of Law, and his B.A. from Miami University. He was admitted to practice in Ohio. He began his career as an Assistant County Prosecutor before serving as an Assistant Ohio Attorney General, where he prosecuted environmental crimes. He later became Assistant Chief of Ohio’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, developing substantial experience with government investigations and enforcement matters.

Robert served as a Special Assistant US Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio’s Health Care Fraud Task Force. He later spent years at a large multistate law firm, where he practiced health care law, white-collar criminal defense, and commercial litigation. He now focuses on representing clients facing criminal allegations and regulatory scrutiny, including health care providers and businesses confronting fraud investigations, professional consequences, and other serious legal risks.

Robert Cochran regularly appears in state and federal courts throughout Ohio and serves as a Criminal Justice Act Panel Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio and the Sixth Circuit. He belongs to professional organizations, including the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Ohio State Bar Association, and Columbus Bar Association.
