Robert Aaron Mueller

Robert Aaron Mueller is an Austin criminal defense lawyer and the lead attorney at Granger and Mueller PC who has practiced criminal law for more than three decades. He has served as lead counsel in over 6,000 criminal cases, representing clients across Travis County misdemeanor and felony courts. His practice covers DWI, assault, burglary, theft, sex offenses, homicide, weapons charges, expunctions, appeals, and white-collar matters. He develops defense strategies around each client’s circumstances, evidence, and available legal defense options.

Aaron completed undergraduate studies at Tarkio College in 1990 before attending St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio. He earned his J.D. in 1993 and was admitted to the Missouri and Texas bars that year. He began his criminal law career as an Assistant Attorney General with the Texas Attorney General’s Office. His government experience provided an early foundation for his later work representing defendants in private practice.

Aaron joined Travis County attorney Ned Granger’s criminal law practice and worked with him for eight years. He later became the lead attorney at the practice, concentrating exclusively on criminal law. His extensive Travis County experience includes matters before all six misdemeanor courts and seven felony district courts. He uses early case assessment and strategic planning to identify defenses, challenge allegations, and pursue outcomes suited to each client’s individual circumstances.

Robert Aaron Mueller maintains active involvement in legal and professional organizations connected with criminal defense and the Austin community.
