About

Richard M. Morgan is the founder of Morgan & DiSalvo, P.C., an Alpharetta, Georgia law firm established in 1995. He advises individuals and families on estate and tax planning, trusts, estate and trust disputes, and business succession. His work also addresses planning for beneficiaries with special needs, charitable gifts, and tax controversies. He helps clients make informed choices about preserving assets and preparing for significant life changes.

Morgan earned a B.B.A. in Accounting, cum laude, and a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Georgia. He later completed an LL.M. in Taxation at Emory University. His training in accounting, law, and tax provides a foundation for developing estate plans that take financial circumstances and tax requirements into account. That background is particularly relevant to complex wealth transfers and business succession decisions.

He has practiced law in Georgia since 1987 and has contributed to developments in state trust, power of attorney, and limited liability company laws through bar association legislative committees. His practice covers both planning and dispute resolution, including estate and trust controversies. He also works with clients on charitable gift planning and issues involving family wealth and the future management of closely held businesses.

Richard M. Morgan is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, an honor he received in 2014. He has served as president of several legal and estate planning organizations, including the taxation sections of the Georgia and Atlanta bar associations. He also speaks on estate and tax planning and has worked with charitable organizations on professional advisory committees, extending his contributions beyond individual client matters.
