Ricardo Palacio

Ricardo Palacio is a director and co-chair of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency group at Ashby & Geddes, P.A. He focuses his practice on bankruptcy law, financial restructuring, and related litigation. He serves as lead counsel and Delaware counsel for corporate debtors, creditors’ committees, trustees, secured lenders, landlords, and asset purchasers. His representation extends to aircraft and personal property lessors and other parties affected by distressed-business proceedings.

Mr. Palacio earned his B.A. from the University of Delaware in 1994. He received his J.D. from Villanova University School of Law in 1998. He is admitted to practice in Delaware and before the United States District Court for the District of Delaware. His federal admissions include the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He is fluent in Spanish, which supports his work with clients from Mexico and South America.

Mr. Palacio represents plaintiffs and defendants in bankruptcy litigation involving preferences, fraudulent transfers, reclamation claims, and professional fee disputes. He handles high-stakes proceedings requiring strategic negotiation, courtroom advocacy, and coordination among parties with competing financial interests. His national practice has included matters in Delaware, California, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico, Texas, Virginia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. He uses his restructuring experience to address complex disputes while keeping clients informed about business risks and available options.
