About
Rennie Phillips is an attorney with an independent family law practice in Laramie, Wyoming. Phillips devotes most of the practice to domestic relations, including divorce, custody, guardianships, and adoptions. Work also includes serving as a Guardian ad litem in contested custody cases. Dividing professional time between Laramie and Jackson, Phillips accepts matters throughout western and southern Wyoming, assisting families with decisions that affect children, safety, and ongoing relationships.
Phillips earned a J.D. from the University of Wyoming College of Law, an M.A. in Anthropology from the University of Wyoming, and a B.A. in Anthropology from Loyola University, New Orleans. During law school, Phillips volunteered with the Access to Justice Commission. The combination of legal study and anthropology provides a foundation for considering family circumstances alongside legal rules, while early volunteer work connected that education with underserved communities.
Phillips previously worked as a staff attorney at the Wyoming Center for Legal Aid, now Equal Justice Wyoming, and the Wyoming Coalition Against Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault. From 2015 through 2020, Phillips was a partner and owner at Jacobs•Polidora, LLC, before beginning the current practice. Experience concerning domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking informs advocacy for survivors, including protection order and custody work undertaken through Community Safety Network in Jackson.
Rennie Phillips has served in leadership roles with the Wyoming State Bar’s Children & Family Law Section and the Wyoming Trial Lawyers Association’s Family Law Section. Phillips also served as chair of Legal Aid of Wyoming’s board from 2021 through 2024 and participates in Access to Justice 2.0. These professional commitments complement family representation with efforts to improve access to courts and legal assistance for Wyoming residents.
