About

Piper Thornburgh is a Washington attorney serving clients on Bainbridge Island and throughout Kitsap and Jefferson counties. Her practice at Piper Thornburgh Law, PLLC, focuses on real estate law, land use, and business law, with additional work involving encroachments, neighbor disputes, protection orders, quiet title matters, adverse possession, lease review, and homeowner and condominium association governance. She helps clients address property, permitting, business, and community concerns with practical guidance and personal attention.

Piper graduated from the University of Puget Sound in 1990 and received her law degree from the Columbus School of Law at Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, in 1994. This education supports her work in legal analysis, document review, client counseling, negotiation, and advocacy. Her background helps her explain real estate, land use, and business issues clearly while preparing clients for important decisions.

Piper began her legal career as a public defender representing clients in District and Superior Courts in Pierce and Snohomish Counties. In 2000, she worked with United States Senator Maria Cantwell on solutions for community leaders and constituents throughout Northwest Washington. She later used her legal and government experience with a statewide nonprofit, handled pro bono cases for the King County Bar Association, and served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate.

Piper Thornburgh opened her law office in Winslow in 2014 and continues to assist clients with permitting, entitlement issues, administrative review, municipal and county code interpretation, business purchases, sales, operations, contracts, and lease concerns. She is also a certified mediator, volunteers with the Kitsap County Dispute Resolution Center, serves as a judge pro tem, and is Immediate Past President and Trustee of the Kitsap County Bar Association.
